"Looking for a job is a proper job!"

True? 

For most people, this is indeed true. Occasionally, you may be lucky enough to get head-hunted into a role, or perhaps a chance meeting leads to a new opportunity that's a perfect fit, and that's great! Not just because you have a shiny new opportunity, but also because of the confidence that comes from an unsolicited approach. 

For the majority of job seekers, gig hunters and business builders today, it's a different story. A daily grind of LinkedIn, job boards and research; constant filtering of emails, the expanding and mining of networks, honing CVs/resumes/cover letters and pitch decks, and the careful completion of endless talent system registrations or application forms.

And after all that, you can still be defeated by an Applicant Tracking System's impenetrable algorithm (that for reasons known only to itself) says "No!", or by deafening silence.  

In all this, you are often a one-person-band, a freelancer, a lone wolf diligently hunting (unpaid) for your next (perfect) gig or customer. 

It's a lonely road. 

But it doesn't have to be.

Convoy is a structure that came into being initially to help job seekers become job finders. It built on the idea that we will do more of what we say/want/should be doing when we have someone holding us to account for it. That someone (buddy) doesn't tell us what to do, and isn't there to judge: you said you intended to achieve "x" between now and the next meeting, and they hold you to account for that (and as this is a buddy system, you do the same for them).

Convoy supports individual and team well-being, as well as ensuring focus on the job/gig/customer search. We are a group of fellow travellers on similar journeys, each with our own unique destinations.

Why we are seeking donations

Convoy is a member-generated community service. It provides structure and support that keeps you moving relentlessly forward in pursuit of you goals. 

This takes a lot of manual admin: speaking to interested potential members, forming groups, configuring file shares, sharing links, providing coaching and guidance, etc. To be sustainable, we need some admin assistance, and to build automation and processes to support the community. This takes time, tools and programming, all of which have a cost.

We are seeking donations to fund the running and tooling of Convoy, so that we can help thousands of people on the journey of finding their next job or gig; so they can do it in the company of others and arrive safe and well at their destination: their new job/gig.
