Description

This Team is meant to fund people working on Free Software for circuit analysis and design. We build a modular and user oriented platform that is focused on interoperability, state of the art free/libre technology, and unlimited extensibility.

Qucs

Qucs is a graphical user interface for circuit simulation. It started as a student project and features a schematic editor, a considerable component library, simulator controls, data visualisation and various design tools.

Our current aim is the refactoring of the code base to be able to support plugins and finalise the transition to Qt5. The switch to Qt5 will allow us to distribute the software to platforms that have abandoned Qt4 a long time ago. Plugins will make available long-awaited features, enable independent fork-free contributions while leaving most choices to the users. This will enable us to make use of third party projects and reach out to developers.

Gnucap

Gnucap is a modern “post-spice” analog and mixed signal circuit simulator. It has started as an industrial application that has turned into Free Software. Gnucap provides the architecture and the algorithms to compete with commercial simulators. It is driven by extensions to a small but stable core library.

The current goal is the implementation of an extensible model compiler targeting FOSS simulators and supporting languages such as Verilog-AMS.
