KnownStormChaser
Independent researcher maintaining open catalogues of publicly available weather models
Description
I maintain an independent, human-readable catalogue of publicly available weather forecast models — numerical weather prediction, ensembles, wave models, tropical cyclone systems, air quality, and AI-based forecast systems from meteorological agencies worldwide.
Information about forecast models is usually scattered across dozens of agency websites, written for specialists, and difficult to compare. The goal of the catalogue is simple: make it easy to discover which models exist, who runs them, what they cover, and where the data can actually be downloaded — without requiring a meteorology background to get started.
Everything stays free and openly accessible. No paywalls, no accounts, no ads, no affiliate links.
Sponsorship helps support the ongoing time this takes: tracking operational changes, verifying sources, documenting upgrades and retirements, and adding new models as they become publicly available. Even small contributions are meaningful and genuinely appreciated.
