What is it for a platform?

The OMSI-WebDisk is a community and a hosting platform for userside created modifications (short: MOD) for the game OMSI - The Bus Simulator. Operated is it from germany by the staff members, especially by the founder and owner called Wörki. Furthermore our services are official supported by the publisher of the game Aerosoft - The Simulation Company.

The idea was to create a central platform for all MODs regarding OMSI. One free of charge useable, secure (virus free), reliable and always available platform. One place where you can browsing, bookmarking and downloading MODs without limitations. Where inactive files - like regular file hosters - will not deleted.

You can download promptly without to resolve a captcha every single time. Download how much you want. There is no account for downloading required unless you want to bookmark entries and/or you want to join the community.

Why are donations needed?

Like any other project does our platform also needs financial reserves. On the one hand we have to pay the licenses for the forum and the WebDisk (a download database or short "filebase") to keep our system up to date in accordance with current web standards. With sufficient financial reserves we can on the other hand hire external developers to create exclusive add-ons to improve our system in using or to make it easier for MOD authors to add their works in our system.

WoltLab, the developer of our system for filebase and forum, will release soon the newest system of the Suite. At this point we have to upgrade our licenses one more time. Total costs mimium: 49,99 EUR (forum) + 29,99 EUR (filebase) = sum 79,98 EUR. Because of changes in the license model of WoltLab this sum is needed every year!

Do you not have regular operating costs?

The regular operating costs are covered by our sponsoring of the publisher Aerosoft and that's the reason for the two advertisments places with banners on our platform. But licence costs and other costs for optimize our platform (exclusive third party developments) are not included. That's the reason that we have only marginal costs.
