The Subreddit Atlas (atlasafterdark.com) is a data visualization project that maps the structure of Reddit's adult communities. Each community is a point on the map, and communities that share commenters sit near each other. The layout is computed entirely from archived participation metadata: author names, subreddit names, and counts. No post content or images are used, and the published map contains no usernames at all.

The site is free, has no ads, and sells nothing. It is an 18+ site because the community names and descriptions it displays are sexually explicit, but the site itself is charts and text.

Donations go toward the fixed costs of keeping it available: hosting and the domain, a few dollars a month in total. Anything beyond that supports the time spent on periodic rebuilds, which keep the map's outbound links current. If you find the atlas interesting or useful, a small contribution is appreciated, but the site stays free and complete either way.
