Canchat is an invite only XMPP service operated and paid for by volunteers. If you are able to help with operating costs you can donate via Liberapay, bitcoin, and monero.
With a steady stream of donations, CanChat could afford larger upload sizes, longer retention times, and the ability to move to next generation hardware.
