OpenStreetMap surveys and mapping parties, Mangrove Reviews, Wikimedia Commons photographs...
Description
I'm a software freedom activist who contributes to OpenStreetMap, Mangrove Reviews, Wikimedia Commons, and more.
If you don't wish to use PayPal, I've listed other methods of sending me money on my website.
OpenStreetMap surveys
I'm an active OpenStreetMap contributor. I work in Delhi for most part, and additionally wherever I might happen to travel.
My preferred method is to map on the ground using the mobile editor Vespucci - it allows me to add details which are not usually added by armchair mappers.
I mostly focus on streets, street names, junction names, POIs (Points Of Interest, i.e. shops, offices, restaurants, banks and ATMs, pharmacies and clinics, toilets, drinking water, etc), addresses, building details (for fancy 3D maps), and sometimes public transport routes and surveillance cameras.
Wherever possible, I add details like opening hours, contact information, wheelchair access, cuisine and dietary information (for eateries), kind of clothes (for clothing shops), camera type and direction (for surveillance cameras), Hindi names, etc.

OpenStreetMap mapping parties
I also host mapping parties in Delhi each month (and sometimes also in Mumbai), both online (remote) and in-person (mobile).
In each mapping party, we tell people about OSM, how to use it, and how to contribute to it. Then we map together for one to two hours, and get some food together afterwards.
It takes hours and hours of planning and publicity. In exchange, the OSM community is strengthened, we get new contributors, and motivate old contributors. And the results of 10+ mappers working in the same area at once are quite something!

Mangrove Reviews, Wikimedia Commons, and Panoramax
I review restaurants on Mangrove Reviews, add food photos for them to Wikimedia Commons, and add restaurant menu photos to MapComplete's Panoramax instance.
This is necessary if we want OSM apps to (some day) show photos, ratings, and reviews of places. Wikimedia Commons photographs are already shown in OsmAPP and OsmAnd.
Freedom-respecting software
Occasionally, I write programs, which I release into the public domain using Unlicense and WTFPL. The most significant of these are -
- Chronometrist, a time tracker for GNU Emacs and CLIM,
- auto-id, a library to generate custom IDs for your Org documents,
- sxiv.el, an Emacs wrapper around the Simple X Image Viewer (SXIV), with Dired integration,
- format-seconds, a flexible Common Lisp library to display durations in a human-friendly way (inspired by the eponymous Emacs Lisp function)
Music recordings and scores
I'm a classical guitarist, singer, and composer with 7 years of experience in composing for musical theatre. I am interested in sharing my existing and future works into the public domain. There is also a lot of public domain music I'd like to create modern Lilypond editions of.
