We're Crem Road, established on the web as a collective in 1997, although we changed our name over time.

We offer our featured music projects' releases for free, with free download as well as unlimited streaming, with no account required, no advertising, no tracking, directly from our main website cremroad.com !

We support punk philosophy and the DIY ethos when talking about creating music (and not only), and our projects' style ranges from garage rock, lofi, noise to minimal folk, IDM or alternative electronica. Most notably, we are an internet home for Me In The Bath, Gorbie's Stuff, DidJaws, Silence International and a handful of other music projects. Our approach of aesthetic is definitively raw and authentic.

We allowed the issuing of more than 170 releases, using lightweight means like the legendary Crem Road home studio, free software, or DIY instruments like the homemade drum kit. Our current website runs under our homebrew open-source CMS.

Our whole catalog is centered toward a little more than a dozen of musicians which are recurring among the music projects we feature, being, members, former members, guest musician, or solo artist, from project to project.

We started as a small teenager group of music making fellows from the alternative music scene from the Nord-Isère area, near the city of Lyon in France.

Our primary objective here is to reach €2.20/week of supporter donations, which would be enough to fund entirely our fees for, our collaboration tool (a NextCloud instance - a must-have for remote music-related work), our public website's hosting, and its associated domain names. It's our usual routine objective but the currently displayed one may have been reduced for the current year to reflect donations we receive outside Liberapay.

Besides this, most of our expenses are due to the need to add or renew musical and computer gear, and, additional domain names for artist/music project websites.

PS: please note that our roster includes less than 1% of standard copyright music. We work hard to always lower this rate, and still hope to someday be able to have the (currently) less-than-1% freed as most of our music is.
