Open-Source Geocomputational Resources
@geocompx
A community-driven effort to provide resources for learning and teaching about geocomputation
Description
The geocompx project is a community-driven initiative focused on reproducible geographic data analysis, modeling, and visualization using open source software. It provides learning and teaching resources for geocomputation across multiple programming languages, supporting students, educators, and practitioners working with geographic data.
A central part of the project is the development and coordination of open-source books such as Geocomputation with R and Geocomputation with Python, alongside related materials for other languages. Geocompx promotes eXchanging information across geospatial communities, cross (X) pollination of ideas between tools and languages, and interoperable approaches to working with geographic data.
The project grew out of the success of Geocomputation with R and expanded as interest in Python and other ecosystems increased, leading to a broader, language-agnostic home for geocomputation knowledge. Geocompx is open by design and welcomes collaboration and contributions from the global geospatial community. Learn more at https://geocompx.org/.
