long-live open-source
Description
Still remember the very first time I benefited from being able to read and change the source of the software. It was 2005 and saved our team a headache of integrating a major version of a library needed for the project.
Since than I've managed to end up contributing to open-source a lot, mostly JRuby (related) in recent years. The experience has taught me how much work goes unnoticed by the masses (users directly benefiting), maintainers spending 10s of hours every week evolving new and old features, delivering bug fixes to keep users happy. I don't mind and will keep making myself useful to others, whether they know it or not. Anyhow, If you feel like supporting a fellow OSS maintainer it's much appreciated!
