Metahusk (Nonprofit Videogame Development Group, Inc) is a US based tax-exempt 501 (c) (3) organization. We exist to foster a mutually innovative and creative learning environment where like-minded individuals can collaborate and learn how to develop video games together.

Community Projects

Our projects are a learning experience where members of the community can download our games and contribute to their development, or, if they lack the skill or desire to help, they can use our projects to study how the project functions.

What We Have Done

We released an Unreal 4 game menu system called Cardinal Menu for free that has had over 27,000 developer downloads. At the time, this menu system was the only free fully featured menu system (that we know of) that included Steam integration, friend joining lists, control bindings, and game settings in one package.

If you've played many games, you've probably noticed how often games from small teams lack an easy way for you to join your friend's game session from the game's menu. Often a developer skips this process and relies on the player's use of the Steam menu for this function instead.

We provided this functionality to the community for free to give small developers the ability to focus on their gameplay instead of having to re-invent the wheel with a menu, key bindings, and server joining. (which takes a lot longer to develop than you'd think)

What We Are Doing

On Halloween of 2025, we released the introductory level of our game Cardinal Fall. The development of the game is open to the community and anyone can download the source files to learn how it was made.

Plans For The Future

Organized under a nonprofit, our efforts will go towards raising money to build physical dormitory facilities where the best and brightest of our community will develop games together, while simultaneously pursuing a traditional education with a partnered university. We have a 21 page working draft of our organizational plan on the bottom of the main page of our website.

You are able to apply any license or restrictions you wish. Unfortunately, we can't accept everything as our server space and resources are limited, but if you have a high quality asset or project that you would like to contribute, we would love to hear from you.
