My Journey in Music and Technology

Education and Training

While pursuing and completing my Bachelor of Arts in Music at UTSA, I also attended the Recording Workshop School of Recording Arts and Sciences, where I received basic and advanced levels of training. Additionally, I studied at Future Rhythm, a Pro Tools certification school in San Jose, CA.

During my time at UTSA, I: - Performed in the San Antonio Honors Recital - Earned a Music Technology Certificate and Award

  • Worked as a Music Technology lab associate that assisted Faculty , Students, and Staff

Post-graduation, I furthered my education at Boston’s MassArts, completing Max/MSP/Jitter Beginner and Advanced Courses under Judy Dunaway.

Professional Experience

I worked for 11 years at a non-disclosed “fruit” company as a: - Personal Software Trainer and Presenter - Technical Specialist (for 3 years), repairing and troubleshooting mobile devices of all sizes

Music and Media Contributions

In my spare time, I focus on on-site video recording and photography of synthesizer events to promote awareness and education in Music Technology within the music and audio industry. I manage two channels: - Raul's World of Synths (14 years) - Modular Wild (12 years)

Video Content Philosophy

My approach to creating videos is to provide a reference library that includes:

  1. Basic videos to help users familiarize themselves with synthesizers
  2. Exploration videos to guide users in discovering their unique voice using foundational concepts

I aim to share knowledge that empowers users for their own musical, artistic, or personal projects. By focusing on timeless basics and explorations, I avoid creating commercial or review content that may become outdated, ensuring relevance today and a decade from now.

Future Goals

I am committed to exploring Music Technology and its innovations, with a long-term goal of providing resources, content, and media for musicians, techies, and enthusiasts of all ages.
