Launched on March 8th, 2019, Smilo is a cryptocurrency focused on making permissioned ledgers obsolete. The developers want Smilo to be Open, Public, Border-less, Censorship Resistant and Neutral. Smilo was launched without a premine, ICO, or founders rewards and relies on donations to support the long-term development of the project.

There was never and will never be a ICO/EIO for Smilo. We are super proud to be a community driven project.

Smilo is a unique full-featured hybrid blockchain platform that will be able to facilitate hybrid transactions, hybrid smart contracts and hybrid decentralized applications — with ‘hybrid’ referring to both public and private. As such, Smilo will safeguard the privacy of any individual's data whilst warranting full transparency from the organizations that these individuals interact with.

Smilo Mainnet is already live, we invite developers to engage with us and test us out. All code is on GitHub and open source. Through the Smilo Foundation, based in The Netherlands, we are offering enterprise solutions to any organizations who wants to offer their clients the mentioned privacy and transparency. Our community of developers is not paid in advance, our project did no pre-mining and all the earnings depend on the product that the community is creating, thus motivating the community to work harder. We are super thankful to this super community that helped to make this a successful launch. Being fully focused on delivering a high quality, solid and innovative project, and also being self-funded with no hefty ICO budgets.

Smilo’s development is not motivated by profit for either its developers or early adopters.
