The Writermark Protocol helps to prove that text was written by a human. It provides cryptographically secure human verification for a writing session. Writermark works by observing the process of writing, analyzing keystroke timing, pauses, paste events, and more complex metrics to evaluate whether typing appears human. If it does — outputs a cryptographically signed certificate that is directly linked to the text, allowing anyone to verify the certificate later.

Our objective at Writermark is to offer Human Authorship proof completely free for authors, publishers, and all those who have an interest in protecting the provenance of human writing. Our primary SDK is open source, allowing anyone to integrate the underlying technology into their own application or ecosystem. We additionally offer Wintertext, a free desktop writing app, which implements the Writermark Protocol.

We are seeking donations in order to expand our infrastructure, harden the protocol, and communicate the importance of protecting human authorship to a wider audience.
